How powerful is Pepper's Rescue armor from Avengers: Endgame , and how does it compare to Tony Stark's own Iron Man suits? When a settled-down Tony Stark held a blue helmet and playfully complained that Pepper Potts never wearsanything he buys her, longtime MCU fans immediately realized what was coming. Sure enough, when the Avengers need backup in the final battle against Thanos (aside from the hundreds summoned by Doctor Strange and Wong), Pepper rides to the Rescue in a brand-spanking new suit of prototype Stark armor.

Despite her relative inexperience in combat compared to other Avengers, Pepper proves incredibly useful in the battle, displaying her Rescue armor's potential in full. One would expect that Rescue would be among the strongest of Tony Stark's creations. After all, this is the weapon Tony built to protect Pepper and Morgan in the event of his absence - it's only natural that the suit would incorporate the most cutting edge of Stark's innovations. But exactly how formidable is the Rescue gear?

In terms of offensive capabilities, Rescue's first major contribution is shooting down one of Thanos' ships with a single blast of her repulsors. This impressive feat suggests Pepper's beams are as strong as those fitted to Tony's final Iron Man suit, the Mark LXXXV, but Rescue also boasts additional floating repulsors that Tony doesn't, affording her extra firepower. Even more telling is how easily Pepper kills one of Thanos' Leviathan monsters during the battle, defeating the flying horror with only a short burst of her lasers. Tony Stark's Mark VII armor was virtually useless against such creatures inThe Avengers, highlighting how much of an upgrade Rescue is compared to Tony's historic Iron Man outfits. Another repulsor blast even sends Thanos rolling across the ground, albeit with help from others. Though he doesn't yet possess a full complement of Infinity Stones, Thanos' Eternal biology means shifting him by force is no easy task.

The real sticking point is whether or not Pepper's Rescue suit is constructed from nanotechnology. When she first arrives, Pepper's helmet pops backward without disappearing like the classic Iron Man armors of yore. A lack of nanotech would immediately make Rescue less flexible, agile and durable inAvengers: Endgame, more akin to the pre-nano Mark XLVI fromCaptain America: Civil War, which was built almost entirely of titanium. After joining the other female Avengers a little later, however, Pepper's helmet unfurls and disappears, which suggests it is made of nano after all. This is supported by how well Pepper's outfit holds up during the clash.

Avengers: Endgame doesn't honestly provide enough footage for the audience to get a 100% accurate read on Rescue's power level, but based on the action wedo get, it's easily among the best of the bunch, dependent on whether it's nano-capable. Tony Stark utilized all of the scientific expertise and experience he gained after losing to Thanos and created Rescue as his most advanced armor at that point. The progression can be seen not only in Rescue's battle capabilities, but in her sleeker, streamlined design. Without the addition of nanotechnology, Rescue would always sit several pegs down from Tony's Mark L armors. Maybe these suits require more practice to control, so wouldn't work for a part-time emergency superhero like Pepper. With nanotech, however, Rescue is quite possibly Tony Stark's magnum opus - more or less on par with his own Avengers: Endgame outfit, but with those added floating repulsors putting a little more potency into her attacks.
